Amity man makes first appearance on preliminary sex charge

MURFREESBORO – An Amity man made his first appearance in Pike County Circuit Court last Friday for possible felony charges.
According to the Pike County Detention Facility Record, Neil M. Kemp, 30, was arrested Wed., May 20 for alleged internet stalking of a child and fourth degree sexual assault. Kemp was given a formal arraignment date of June 15 at his first appearance.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office declined comment citing the alleged charges are part of an ongoing investigation.
Formal charges have not been filed against Kemp.
