NASHVILLE – The discovery of reportedly stolen items in another person’s house resulted in the arrest of a Nashville man Wednesday.
According to a statement put out by Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins, deputies were contacted that day by Philip Nolan, who reported to them that someone had been in his residence and some items had been taken. He further reported that he had been to the home of a neighbor, Billy Jean Bagley, asking if she had seen anything around the time that he suspected his home had been entered. Bagley reportedly invited Nolan into her home to look around, and that he found some of the missing items.
Bagley is alleged to have informed deputies that Bobby Joe Murphy, 36, of Nashville, brought the items to her home. McJunkins’ statement goes on to state that deputies Timmy Floyd and Blake Eudy later made contact with Murphy and arrested him on charges of theft of property and residential burglary. He is being held at the Howard County jail on $50,000 bond.
