Cravens, Jr., age 93, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 In the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana. He was born to Oscar, Sr. and Mary Turrentine Cravens at Lockesburg, Arkansas, on September 29, 1921. He was a 1939 graduate of the Sevier County Training Center. He was a member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church of Lockesburg, and was a retired employee of Pilgrim’s Pride He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Herman Cravens, Carl A. Cravens, Lester H. Cravens, his sisters, Ruth Cravens Wright, Esther Cravens Sampson, and Daisy Cravens Cabean, his wife of over 60 years, Gladys Baggett Cravens, three nephews, O. Fredrick Cravens, P. H. Wright, Jr., and Reginald Cravens and a niece, Anetha Taylor McDonald. He is survived by a brother, John Wesley Cravens of Lockesburg, AR, a sister, Melba Cravens Taylor, Caruthersville, Missouri, nephews, Lawrence Wright, Carl L. Cravens, Richard Cravens, Henry Cravens, John A. Taylor, nieces, Thadis M. Wright, , Ruth Cravens Watts, Carol Cravens Johnson, Ollie F. Wright Elmore, Freda Sampson Wilson, Zina Blackshear, Nina Blackshear, Sandra Cravens Robinson, Jacqueline Cravens Wright, Frederica Cravens Wytch, Sharon Cravens Smart, Denise Cravens Winfield, Patricia Cravens Ford, Andretta Cravens, and Janice Cravens French. Funeral Services for Mr. Oscar Cravens will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, DeQueen, Arkansas. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, May 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
