Scrapperettes fall to Bauxite

psd softballNASHVILLE – The Nashville Scrapperettes fell in late innings against the Bauxite Lady Miners in their last game at Futrell Field in Nashville this season.


The game began slowly, with no scoring in the first couple of innings. Then the Scrapperettes took the early lead in the game with a run in the bottom of the third inning and a second in the bottom of the fourth, with Kendall Kirchhoff running in on Mattie Jamison’s bat and Alyssa Harrison knocking a homer.
Things started to go the other way as the Lady Miners came back in the top of the fifth with a single run and a pair of runs each in the sixth and seventh to end the game Bauxite 5-2.
Despite the loss Anna Kesterson continued to look good on the mound, striking out nine batters in seven innings of pitching, allowing only one earned run.
The Scrapperettes go on to the district tournament in Waldron.
