He knows my name

It took me a long time to realize the way that God knew me. His thoughts for me were so great – things I had never thought of myself.

Once I began to read the Word – and I mean really read the word – I happened to realize he knew my name and me. My purpose and my whole existence was for him and by him.

The words of the Bible started to jump off the page, as if someone was highlighting them for me.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -Jeremiah 29:11.

I realized the Lord had great plans for me, a big future, and I didn’t have to live without love or be lonely again.

So, I must say these are now my favorite verses:

I Corinthians 13…4Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.

With all this said, I hope you know that God has plans to give you a life that is becoming of him and not the world. In the time I have spent growing into his mold of me, and not the world’s, I have realized I only have to be what he wants me to be.

What a freeing statement: Free to be me, through him!
