Market Manager

As summer continues, the Howard County Farmers’ Market is preparing to welcome one of the season’s most anticipated arrivals—fresh, locally grown watermelons. Shoppers can expect the first watermelons of the season this Friday.

Last week, shoppers found tomatoes, bell peppers, hot peppers, figs, squash, onions, and a variety of other locally grown favorites. The recent stretch of extreme heat means that many of the tomato and cucumber plants have reached the end of their season.

In addition to fresh produce, shoppers can expect homemade baked goods, local honey, jams, personal care products, handmade crafts, and other locally made items. Every Friday offers something a little different, depending on what local farmers are harvesting.

The Howard County Farmers’ Market is also seeking a new Market Manager to help lead the market into the future. This volunteer leadership role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting local agriculture, small businesses, and community events. Anyone interested in learning more is encouraged to email [email protected].

The Howard County Farmers Market is open every Friday from 7 a.m. until noon at the market pavilion. Find us on Facebook for the latest information.
