The 53rd Pine Tree Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Dierks City Park with the Ultimate Bullfighters again headlining the event.
Ultimate Bullfighting will start at 8 p.m. with tickets prices $15 for ages 13 and up and $10 ages 6-12. Kids under five get in free. The fighters will be available for pictures and autographs following the competition at the merchandise table.
Prior to the main event, the popular Mutton Bustin’ competition will happen at 6 p.m. with registration staring at 5.
The festival will officially get underway at 7 a.m. with the Pine Tree Festival 5K. Registration is now open. For more information, contact the Dierks Chamber of Commerce.
There will also be a loader competition at 7 a.m., followed by a baking contest at 9 in the Dierks Community Building, an antique car show at 11 and a corn hole tournament at 12 noon.
A “sawdust scramble” for the kids and the saw competitions will start at 1 p.m. The Rusty Relics Antique Tractor Club will also be in attendance.
The Pine Tree Festival Parade will roll down Main Street at 10 a.m. with lineup at 9 behind Mariachi’s Mexican Restaurant. For more information about the parade, contact Jaron Tipton at (870) 584-6325.
The day will also include arts, crafts and vendors, mini train rides and bounce houses.
On July 26 at Jo Ann Walters Elementary Gymnasium, the Miss Pine Tree Festival Pageant will take place. Divisions range from Baby (0-12) to Miss (18+).
