Developing Howard County has launched a countywide Industry Marketing and Workforce Attraction Initiative designed to support existing industries, strengthen workforce recruitment efforts, and position Howard County for continued economic growth.

The initiative will focus on promoting Howard County’s industrial sector, highlighting the region’s skilled workforce, increasing awareness of career opportunities, and creating a sustainable platform to support both existing employers and future industrial recruitment efforts.

Through partnerships with media producers, local media outlets, educational institutions, workforce organizations, and local industry leaders, the initiative will utilize video storytelling, digital marketing, workforce outreach, hiring events, and community engagement to showcase the people, companies, and products that drive Howard County’s economy.

A major component of the effort will be dedicated to supporting existing industries through ongoing promotion and storytelling. Monthly features will highlight local manufacturers, employee success stories, workforce achievements, leadership perspectives, product innovation, and the economic impact of industry throughout Howard County.

The initiative will also serve as a workforce recruitment platform for local employers. Professionally produced recruitment content will promote careers in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, logistics, skilled trades, supervision, and production while highlighting the quality of life and career opportunities available throughout Howard County.

To further support workforce development efforts, Developing Howard County will create and maintain a dedicated workforce and industry portal on DevelopingHowardCounty.com. The portal will provide information on career opportunities, workforce resources, educational pathways, participating employers, recruitment videos, direct links to company hiring platforms, and resume submission opportunities.

Throughout the year, DHC will coordinate workforce outreach efforts, educational engagement activities, hiring events, and community awareness initiatives designed to connect employers with talent and strengthen the county’s workforce pipeline.

In addition to supporting current employers, the initiative will create a long-term workforce marketing platform that can be utilized to support future industrial recruitment projects. By showcasing Howard County’s industries, workforce, educational partnerships, and ACT Work Ready Community designation, the campaign will provide marketing assets that help attract new investment and job creation opportunities.

“As Howard County continues to grow, it is important that we invest in both the industries that have chosen to call our community home and the workforce that makes their success possible,” said Vanessa Weeks, director of economic development for Developing Howard County. “This initiative allows us to celebrate our existing industries, support their workforce needs, and strengthen our ability to attract future opportunities that create jobs and improve quality of life throughout Howard County.”

Howard County became the first county in Southwest Arkansas to successfully achieve ACT Work Ready Community recertification, demonstrating the county’s ongoing commitment to workforce development, employer engagement, and educational alignment. The new initiative builds upon those efforts by creating additional tools and resources to support workforce attraction, retention, and economic development.

By combining industry promotion, workforce recruitment, community engagement, and economic development marketing, Developing Howard County is creating a comprehensive strategy designed to support business growth, workforce development, and long-term investment in Howard County.
