Galen Nelson Johnson, 78, of Maumelle, Ark. died April 6, 2026.
He was born in Nashville, Aug. 31, 1947, to the late Arthur and Bobbie Johnson.
He was a 1965 graduate of Nashville High School.
He was drafted to the Army in 1967, and his service included a stint in Vietnam where he was a gunner on helicopters. After the military he earned a BA in History from UALR.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Richard Johnson (Sheryl), and Jerry Johnson (Barbara). He lost his wife, Judi Johnson, in 1995 to a car accident.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Maumelle and was a member of Gideons.
Survivors include: his wife, Lisa Johnson; daughters, Lauren Richey (Mark), Becca Webb (Jason), and Brooke Gillum; also grandchildren.
Visitation was at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (Little Rock) on Friday, April 10 from 6-8 pm. Services were Saturday, April 11 at First Baptist Church of Maumelle, followed by burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark.
