Martha Ray Jewell Tollett was born at home on a snowy December day in 1944 to Dave and Froney Jewell. She joined a sister, Mary Lynn Lewis, now deceased.

Martha graduated from Nashville High School and went to Texarkana College and on to Henderson State Teachers College where she received a B.S.E. in business administration.

Martha taught at Mt. Ida for a year and a half and returned home to marry the love of her life, Eddy Tollett. She also taught eight years at Blevins. She stayed at home for four years after their son was born and then went to work at Tollett Auto Parts where she worked until they retired.

Survivors include her husband of 56 plus years, Edward Tollett, one son, David Edward Tollett of Hot Springs. One sister, Vonda Davis of Sheridan; brother-in-law, James R. (Tiny) Lewis; sisters-in-law, Malloy Freel (Carl Henry Freel II) of McNab and Rogena Sheets (Mike) of Texarkana; and a brother-in-Law, Rufus Tollett of Nashville.

Many nieces and nephews including Randy Lewis (Angie); Mona Lewis of Nashville; Renee Solida (Joseph) of Sheridan; Carl Henry Freel III (Joy) of McNab; Christi Speer (Richard) of Nashville, Tenn.; Jonathan Sheets (Scottie) of Sherwood; Misty Colclasure (Chris) of Benton; Daniel Sheets (Lindsey) of Tallahassee, Fla., and a number of grand nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in the Latimer Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Tim Freel and Bro. Kevin Sartin.
