Angie Freel was announced last week as the new Howard County Extension Agent-Family & Consumer Science. Freel, 52, began her career in extension work in 1997 and has served as a county agent over four different counties over 18 years.
She has also served at the state 4H office and state 4H branch and headed up the state 4H program for the state of Idaho. “I really miss county work,” she said, adding her family is in the process of “heading this way” from the Bryant area, pending a home sale and one of her and husband Monty’s three children making a college transfer.
Monty Freel is a native of Hope and is kin to the local Freel clan. The family has a cabin on Yellow Creek and are planning to retire to this area.
