Jackie Carolyn Coleman Harwell, 86, of Nashville, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2025, in Murfreesboro. She was born Nov. 13, 1938, at Muddy Fork, Ark., the daughter of the late John Coleman and Merle White Coleman.
She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church, a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of Arkansas.
She was a retired teacher and was a Certified Reading Specialist. She taught at the Cossatot Learning Center at Tyson Foods. She was a longtime member of the Nashville City Council.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Harwell; a sister, Annie Dale Powell, half-brother, Carlton Coleman, two half-sisters, Elizabeth Hodge and Doris Cowling.
Survivors include: her son, Jerry Harwell and wife, Donna of Nashville; a brother, Roy Coleman and a sister, Henriellen Lawrence, both of Dierks; also grandchildren.
The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville. Funeral services followed. Burial was at Restland Memorial Park, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
