Shirley Marlene (Winn) Bevill, 75, of Gillham, Ark., passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, in Hot Springs, Ark., surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on Tuesday, May 3, 1949, in Cabot, Ark., to Jerrell Tyrone Winn and Ophelia Beatrice (Carmical) Winn.

Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Rowland Bevill; her parents; and her brother, Jerrell Stanley Winn.

She is survived by her loving children: Matthew Bevill and wife, Emily and grandson William Bevill of Mena, Ark.; Todd Bevill and wife, Tiffany and grandson Zac Bevill of Fayetteville, Ark.; and Bobbi (Bevill) Aldridge and husband, Anthony and granddaughter Phoebe Aldridge of Hot Springs, Ark. She also leaves behind her cherished brother, Ronnie Winn of Conway, Ark., along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

Marlene dedicated her life to education, teaching for 31 years across all grade levels, from Pre-K to college. She impacted countless students through her work at the University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College formerly known as Cossatot Vocational College, Gillham School District, Dierks School District, Grannis School District, and Henderson State University. She was not only a teacher but also a mentor, guide, and inspiration to many.

Marlene was a devoted Christian whose faith was central to her life. She often shared her favorite saying, “Greatly Blessed and Highly Favored,” as a testament to her unwavering belief in God’s love. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren — Zac, William, and Phoebe — who brought her endless pride and happiness.

Marlene’s legacy of faith, love, and dedication to others will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bevill will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Jerry Hill, Billy Pritchett, and Jared Morphew officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery in Gillham, Ark., under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at the funeral home.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have prayed for, supported, and loved them during this difficult time.

In lieu, of flowers, the family requests for friends, and family to buy a Bible for a graduating senior in the Class of 2025, contribute to Gideon Bible distributions, or support the Grannis First Baptist Church.
