Johnny David Harding, May 12, 1951-October 2, 2024
Known as “Big John,” “Lonny,” and “Linebacker” by his many friends, he was preceded in death by his parents, L.V. Harding, Junior, and Viola Harding, and a son, Blake Harding.
He is survived by his children, Kyle Harding and Holly Harding-Smith with her husband, David Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Conway with
her husband Bobby Conway.
Johnny will be remembered by his other family members as the life of the party,
always laughing and telling jokes. His grandchildren, Dawson Smith, Bryce and Taylor Ann-Louise Harding, Samantha Hughes, and Colton Dake, called him “Pops.” He was beloved by his niece and nephew, Natasha Conway and Dante Conway with his wife Reagan.
Johnny was a collegiate and semi-pro football player, an award-winning leader of both the Nashville and Texarkana chapters of the Jaycees, and an avid hunter, serving as the
President of Harding Deer Camp.
He loved campfires, spending time with family and friends, telling jokes, laughing,
crying, calling the Hogs —- WOO PIG SOOIE— and (sometimes) the Cowboys. He will be deeply missed.
We love you, Pops!
