Sherald Wayne Pinkerton, a man of faith, creativity, and gentleness, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, in Texarkana, Texas, at the age of 86. Born on Jan. 1, 1938, in Umpire, Ark., to the late George and Grace Sharp Pinkerton, Sherald’s life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community.

Sherald’s journey through life was shared with his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia Vaughn Pinkerton. Together they nurtured a family that includes their son Brent and his wife Ellen, and a close-knit circle of relatives; Sherald’s brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Shirley Pinkerton, and brother-in-law Ken and his wife Annette Vaughn.

Sherald was a cherished uncle to numerous nephews, nieces, and great-nieces.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his in-laws, Omer and Jerry Vaughn, sister and brother-in-law, Lois, and Lindell Dalrymple.

Before retiring, Sherald dedicated 21 years to educating young minds as a math teacher in area schools. His passion for teaching was paralleled by his commitment to the land, working as a cattle and poultry farmer. His work ethic and ability to impart knowledge left a lasting impact on both his students and the agricultural community.

Sherald was a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church in Nashville, where he found strength and fellowship.

A man with a remarkable ability to build and fix anything, Sherald’s hands were rarely still.

Sherald’s gentle spirit and kind heart made him a friend to all. His legacy is not only in the structures he built or the students he taught but in the quiet strength he exhibited daily and the love he shared with his family.

As we say goodbye to Sherald Wayne Pinkerton, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with purpose, love, and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, May 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Nashville Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Goff and Bro. Darin Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery.
