Martin L. Cox (Marty), 65, of Nashville, AR, passed away on May 7, 2024, at his home.  Marty was born on September 29, 1958, to Benjamin Sid Cox and Wanda June Collums-Cox in Carthage, Texas.   Marty and his family moved to Hope, Arkansas during early childhood.  His Uncle, J.B. Collums, taught him to be a welder at the age of 13. After high school, Marty welded for numerous years before pursuing a career as a fireman at Hope Fire Department. Thanks to his Daddy, he also had a career on his days off from the station as a meticulously skilled carpenter.  Whether it be fishing, hunting, or spending time at the lake with his family, Marty had a love for the outdoors; but what he was best known for was his love for music!  He showcased his God-given gift in church, music events, or just sitting around “pickin” and “grinnin” with his Momma, his brother,  his sisters, and his uncles at each and every family gathering; so much so that his eldest grandson, Brodie, gave him the name, “Pappaw Guitar.”

Marty was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest sister, Linda Venable.  He is survived by his two daughters: Krystal Goodwin (Brian) of Magnolia, AR and Kourtney Sevenbergen (Billy) of Altoona, IA; five grandchildren: Brodie, Eli, Will, Nora, and Isla; his brother, Curtis Cox (Sandy) of McCaskill, AR, and his sister Gwin Carmon (Dennis) of Hot Springs, AR; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Services will be held at 10:00am, on May 17, 2024, at Cross Point Cowboy Church in Nashville.
