Carroll Cameron Powell, a beloved member of the Blue Bayou community, passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 66. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Born on Oct. 19, 1957, in Nashville, Ark., Carroll was the son of the late Norman and Geraldine Freeman Powell. From a young age, Carroll exhibited a strong work ethic. He attended Nashville Public Schools, where he excelled both academically and athletically.

Following his education, Carroll pursued a career as an equipment operator, where his skills and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of his community. In addition to his work, Carroll was a proud business owner, contributing to the local economy and fostering growth throughout Arkansas.

One of Carroll’s greatest joys in life was tending to his cattle and dogs, a passion that brought him solace and contentment amidst the stress of everyday life. His love for animals was evident to all who knew him, and his gentle spirit resonated with every creature in his care.

Carroll was not only a man of action but also of intellect. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he sought knowledge with great curiosity. His thirst for understanding extended to matters of faith, where he found solace and conviction in his belief in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed engaging in theological discussions, finding spiritual growth in the exchange of ideas.

Carroll’s commitment to his community was unwavering. As a lifelong resident of Blue Bayou, he forged deep connections with his neighbors and friends, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.

Carroll is survived by his loving sister, Deborah Powell Tackett, and her husband Max; his niece, Heather Tackett Wardle, and her husband Brian; his great-nephew, Bear Wardle; his nephew, Andy Tackett; and his dear friend Sasha Cogburn. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the County Line Cemetery in Carroll’s memory. Donations can be made to the following address: County Line Cemetery Fund, 174 County Line Road South, Nashville, AR 71852.
