Hobert Eugene Risner, age 81, of Murfreesboro, Ark., left his earthly life on Friday, March 29, 2024, in Murfreesboro, Ark. He was born Dec. 2, 1942 in Murfreesboro, Ark., the son of the late Garland C. and Betty Bashaw Risner.
Mr. Risner served four years in the United States Navy. Following his military service he began his career in 1966 at the Briar Plant (Weyerhaeuser). In 1978 he transferred over to the Murfreesboro saw mill, before returning back to the Briar plant in 1981. He retired in 2008 serving 42 years during his career.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; seven brothers, Norman Risner, Clarance Risner, James Risner, Homer Risner, Hubert Risner, Idus Risner, and Garland Risner Jr.; two sisters, Cleo Risner and Melvin Miller.
Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Dianne Dixon Risner of Murfreesboro, Ark.; three children, Gary Eugene Risner of Nash, Texas, Phillip Wade Risner (Kathie) of Murfreesboro, Ark., and Christina Lynn Williams (Wesley) of Genoa, Ark.; he is also survived by eight grandchildren, Colby (Brittany), Kai Moffitt, Heidi Buck (Brannon), Railey Williams, Laramie Williams, and Emma Williams. He also leaves his baby Juno of 10 years. Three sisters Iva Mae Merchant, Betty Jane Scoggins, and Lorene McClure; as well as three great-grands.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday, March 31, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 1, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, with Buddy Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Murfreesboro Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
