Violet Henrietta Staggs, 86, of Nashville, Ark., passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024. She was born on July 2, 1937 in Biwabik, Minn., to John and Olga Kilpela.

Violet married Jimmy Staggs shortly after college and moved to Nashville where she began her career and family. She worked as a school teacher for many years, touching the lives of countless children. She left teaching to focus on bookkeeping for the family’s growing business, Staggs Poultry Supply and Ready Mix. She handled the accounting for the business all the way until they retired and sold the company.

Violet and Jimmy loved traveling together, going on cruises and trips all over. She also enjoyed playing bingo, camping and boating at nearby Lake Greeson, and most of all spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Olga Kilpela; husband, Jimmy Staggs; two sons Stan Staggs and Stacey Staggs; her grandson Christopher Chase Staggs; her granddaughter Haley Quick; and great-grandson Brody Quick.

Survivors include: one son, Steve Staggs; three grandchildren: Drake Staggs, Chelsie Nolen, and Chad Staggs; three great-grandchildren: Emma Nolen, Nickolas Nolen, and Hadley Staggs; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at Corinth Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
