The Nashville Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Eclipse Festival & Glow Fun (run)” is set for Saturday, April 6, at the Dogwood Pavilion in the Nashville City Park.

Activities will begin at 4 p.m. and will be followed by the Glow Fun Run at 8:30 on the Dogwood Trail.

The festival will be a prelude to Monday, April 8, when Arkansas will be in the path of totality for the Great American Total Solar Eclipse.

On that day, the moon will pass between the sun and the earth, creating a 117.9-mile-wide shadow that will enter the southwest tip of the state near De Queen at 1:46 p.m.

The shadow will move along a northeasterly path until it exits Arkansas near Pocahontas about 2 p.m.

The period of total darkness for any particular location along the center of the path will be slightly more than four minutes.

For more information about being a sponsor for the festival, contact the chamber office at (870) 845-1262. Vendors may call Susie Berruquin at (870) 557-3758.

Registration forms for the Glow Fun Run are available at the chamber office or by contacting Kristin Stavely at (870) 845-1188. There will be a $20 fee for the run.

The first 100 registrations will get a free pair of eclipse glasses and a guaranteed shirt size.
