Nashville, Arkansas – Fern Irene Scoggins, 84, of Nashville, Ark., passed away Jan. 14th, 2024, at Howard Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Scoggins was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Blevins, Ark. She was retired school teacher in Arkansas teaching at Blevins, Old Washington, Clow, Nashville, and Saratoga, Ark. She was a member of New Light CME Church, Nashville, Ark.
Survivors include: one daughter, Asia Brazil Scoggins, of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, Gremyko Scoggins, Jr., Chase Scoggins, and Gabrielle (Tottie) Scoggins; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Benny (Dorthy) Mitchell of Dallas, Texas; several nieces, nephews and host of cousins.
She was preceded by her husband, Earl J. Scoggins, one son, Gremyko Scoggins, Sr.; her sister, Ruby Brunson and parents, Bennie & Edna Mitchell and several Uncles and Aunts.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at New Light CME Church with the Rev. Deborah Cotledge officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Garden under direction of Hicks Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26th at Hicks Funeral Home.
