Christa Galikowski Kolb, age 83 of Green’s Chapel Community, Ark., died, Dec. 20, 2023. Mrs. Kolb was born April 4, 1940, in Weissenfels, Germany, but was raised in Pirmasens, Germany. Almost all of her life she suffered from severe pain. She worked in an American Military Hospital in Muenchweiller, Germany where she met and married her husband, Bill.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, and three children, Carol Herder of Pittsburgh, Penn., Diana Day and her husband Ron of Hot Springs, and Mark Kolb and his wife Cindy of Mary Esther, Fla.; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Phillips of New York City, Meggan Phillips of Hot Springs, Ark., Michael Herder of Finleyville, Penn., Dr. Elizabeth Herder of Saunderson, R.I., Daniel Kolb who is in the US Army and Matthew Kolb of Mary Esther, Fla.; and one great-grandson Pierce Gilbert of New York City; one brother-in-law, James Kolb and his wife Laura of North Little Rock, Ark., two special cousins, Charlotte Kirchner of Pirmasens, Germany, and Pat Warren and Husband Mack of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and one favorite sister-in-law, Maria Kolb and her husband Michael Willard of Alexander, Ark.; and her two cats ,Buffy and Brandy.
Her body will be donated to Medical Education and Research Institute and later cremated. In keeping with Christa’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A private memorial for the family and friends will be held a
