Gwendolyn Williams Posey, age 84 was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Piggott, Ark., in the home of her parents. She passed away Nov. 13, 2023 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Ark.

She was preceded in death by husband of 48 years William Ralph Posey, parents Carlus Williams and Gerdean Bess Williams and brother-in-law Richard Douglas Posey.

Survivors include: her five children including son David Randall Posey and wife Beverly Kuykendall Posey of Murfreesboro, daughter Rebecca Dawn Posey of Murfreesboro, Ark., daughter Deborah Posey Reynolds and husband Marty of Glenwood, Ark., son William Ralph Posey II and wife Gina Canada Posey of Benton, Ark., son Samuel Mark Posey and wife Lisa Morris Posey of Texarkana, Texas; sisters Carletta Pollard of Sikeston, Mo., Chris and Husband Gary Webster of Dickson, Tenn. and Diane and husband Kerry Winberry of Springdale, Ark.; sisters-in-law Pamela Kay Brule of Philadelphia, Tenn. and Marilyn Shipp Posey of Texarkana, Ark.; grandchildren William David Posey and wife Lisa of Murfreesboro, Ark., Taylor Ray Posey and wife Kerbie of Murfreesboro, Ark., Lindsey Kay Posey Brown and husband Micah of Murfreesboro, Ark., Airman First Class William Jarod Posey of Murfreesboro, Ark. and Emily Faye Posey of Murfreesboro, Ark.; Great-grandchildren Kyndahl Rose Posey and Sawyer David Posey of Murfreesboro, Allie Kay and Evie Rae Posey of Murfreesboro and Hattie Mae Posey of Murfreesboro; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, family, friends and ones who knew her as “Momma Posey”.

She was member of the First Christian Church. She was a member of Eastern Star.

She attended Dallas Christian College where she sang in the group Christ Choraliers. She served alongside her Husband for 45 years in ministry in numerous Christian Churches and Christian Camps in Arkansas, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Wyoming where you would often find her in the kitchen or mess hall fulfilling her love of cooking in service to the Lord. She blessed fellow Christians with her gifted singing.

She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that would pause any task at hand to listen to or care for any one of these. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at First Christian Church in Murfreesboro with Rob Evans, Steve Marsh and Brian Doyle. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
