Vanessa Weeks of Nashville has been named Howard County’s first director of economic development, according to Dr. Steve Cole, chancellor of UA-Cossatot.

Weeks will be the economic coordinator for the Developing Howard County Foundation.

Weeks grew up in De Queen and is a graduate of De Queen High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Southern Arkansas University. She has lived in Nashville for almost four years with her husband, Brad Weeks. Her daughters attend the Nashville School District and her son attends Little Red School House.
