The Howard County Historical Society (HCHS) will sponsor Pack the Park Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Nashville City Park.

The car show is one of the primary fundraisers for the local museum system. This fun-filled event is open to the public free of charge and will feature many outstanding automobiles from around the Ark-La-Tex.

A concession stand will be available. Pack the Park t-shirts, which are sponsored by a number of Howard County businesses, will be available to purchase at the car show. There will be drawings and give-aways for the participants.

Pack the Park proceeds will go toward purchasing museum supplies such as acid-free storage boxes, folders, and UV light control film for windows.

The museum volunteers are now scanning and digitizing photographs and historical documents that will be available for research in the near future. When complete, the historical database will contain over 35,000 documents. A research kiosk at the Old City Hall, Sypert and Main, will be available to the public for data base and web site searches once the project is complete.

The HCHS is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profit organization. For more information on Pack the Park contact Freddie Horne at 870 451 4288 or Susan Nannemann at 870-557-6418.
