The Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce will hold a duck race on the Little Missouri River on Saturday, Aug. 5.

The race will finish at Low Water Bridge, with the starting point to be determined at a later date depending on the Narrows Dam electric generation schedule.

Prizes will be $1,000 for the first duck to cross the finish line, $500 for second place and $250 for third.

The purchase of a duck to participate in the race will cost $10, or three for $25. Entrants need not be present to win.

Ducks may be purchased at any of the following locations: Gypsy Underground Flea Market, Telinga’s Mexican Restaurant, Kadoha Indian Village, Town Square Gallery, Pawn Kings, Dino Dig, Harvill Insurance, Caddo Antiques, Feed Bin Cafe, The Old Store, Southern Dine, Branch Oil, Crusted Loaf and Dos Broz.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hometown Christmas on the Square activities in December.
