Two vehicles with keys left in the ignition were stolen from Nashville during the early morning hours of July 15, according to Nashville Police Chief Amy Marion.

The first was reported around 3:50 a.m. A subject called the police department reporting that someone had just stolen a 2011 Dodge Ram Truck from South Jones Street. Officer Greg Parker saw a car speeding down Coleman Street and then turned onto South Main, where he pulled it over. The occupants said they were chasing their stolen truck. Officer Parker then went after the stolen truck and caught up to it at the corner of Front Street. The occupants of the truck fled on foot and have not been identified or apprehended. The stolen truck was recovered.

At around 4:10 a.m. the same date, another person reported that a 2015 Ford F-150 truck was stolen from a house on Ridgeway Drive in Nashville.

The victim stated that at approximately 2:50, someone in a gray car pulled up in front of the residence and sat there for a few seconds. The victim said they then heard their truck start up and take off down Ridgeway towards Highway 27.

The victim got into a car and tried to find the stolen truck but were unable to locate it. The vehicle was reported stolen at that time and has not been located at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.
