Obituary: Kendall Keith ‘KK’ Cowling

Kendall Keith “KK” Cowling, age 79, of Nashville, Ark., passed on to his eternal home on Feb. 8, 2023. in Nashville, Ark.

He was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of the late Joseph Earl and Mittie Bernice Cowling.

He was a long time member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Cowling was a United States Army Veteran, a retired police officer, and was a Powerhouse Operator at Weyerhaeuser for over 30 years. He was fondly known as KK and PaPa, he loved his family, farming, and coaching Pee Wee football and baseball.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Cowling, and a brother, Milton Cowling.

He is survived by: his daughter Kim Ganous (Randy) of Nashville, Ark.; a step-son Brandon Smith (Carrie) of Center Point, Ark.; grandchildren Autumn Murillo, Kaitlan Berton, Katelyn Smith, and Landon Smith, as well as eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Shelby Cowling (Devona) Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Sandra Langley (Russell) Homer, La.; and one sister-in-law, Rozann Cowling of Texarkana, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.  Cremation services will follow under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
