James Carroll Smithson, age 86, of Nashville, Ark., passed away on Dec. 23, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Nashville, Ark., the son of the late Edgar Neal Smithson and Mary Kathleen Jacques Smithson.
Mr. Smithson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville, Arkansas.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Rogers and Ruth Cooper; as well as one brother, Gene Smithson.
Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Anne Smithson of Nashville, Ark.; one son, Richard Smithson and wife Tarrah; grandson Steele Smithson both of Milton, Ga.; granddaughter Sydney Grubbs and husband Hunter of Hot Springs, Ark.; three great- grandchildren, Adalyn, Emery, and Rah; sister-in-law Ann Smithson of Ashdown, Ark.;
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville with Bro. Tim Freel officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
