Obituary: Tammie Jo Rather, 58, of North Little Rock

Tammie Jo Rather, age 58, of North Little Rock, Ark., died on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, in Little Rock, Ark.  She was born Feb. 15, 1963, in Nashville, Ark., the daughter of Judy Tapscott Fagan and the late Henry Wildbur.

Tammie was a member of the Saline Church of Christ. When she was 35 years old she followed her dream and joined the Army National Guard. She was deployed twice during Operation Noble Eagle, and Operation Enduring Freedom. One of her highest honors was serving as a member of the Military Service Funeral Honors Team. During her service she was awarded many different medals, some included the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. She completed 20 years of service with the rank of Staff Sergeant. 

She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Gabriel Kolton Humphry, and her father, Henry Wildbur.

Survivors include her husband, Andy Burke of North Little Rock, Ark.; one son, Raun Rather of Murfreesboro, Ark.; one daughter, Sarah Humphry of Murfreesboro, Ark.;  three grandchildren, Haylie Horn, Ava Humphry, and Adley Humphry; parents Judy and  Rodney Fagan of Murfreesboro, Ark.; siblings Ronny Wildbur and Shelly of Heber Springs, Ark.; Rick Wildbur and Emily of Bowlin, Ky.; Rhonda Jones and Troy of Portland, Tenn.; Tina and Tony Hughes of Conway, Ark.; Greg Hays and Candy of Pleasant Shade, Tenn.; Tiffany Boren of McMinnville, Tenn.; as well as a number of family and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3rd, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4th, at First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro with Rev. Terry Chapman, Rev. Michael Daniel, and Rev. James Wainscott officiating.Burial will follow with Military Honors in Murfreesboro Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
