Jerry Harmon Gilbert, 83, of White House, TN, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, in Hendersonville, TN. He was born June 27, 1937, in Nashville, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jadie Gilbert and Ovierene McClendon Gilbert, and two sisters, Willie Fern May and Shirley Gilbert.
Jerry graduated from Nashville High School in Nashville, AR. After graduation, he entered the United States Army and served 3 years. After serving in the army he worked for several insurance companies while earning his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Tyler. Jerry retired as Vice President of the last company he worked for.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy of White House, TN. Two sons, Donald (Stephany) Gilbert of Lindale, TX; Ronald ( Bonnie ) Gilbert of Cottontown, TN; five grandchildren, Valerie ( Ryan ) Anderson of Katy, TX; RJ ( Amanda ) Gilbert of White House, TN, Danielle Elwood of Lindale, TX, Joshua ( Jodie ) Gilbert of Lockhart, TX, Patricia Gilbert of Oklahoma City, OK; six great-grandchildren, Emily and Bethany Anderson, Lux and Lenz Elwood, Eli Gilbert, Jet Gilbert; two sisters, Barbara Anderson, Selina McKnight; two brothers, Billy Gilbert, Bruce Gilbert all from Nashville, AR and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside memorial service will be held on Oct. 17, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Bingen- Ozan Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Sartin officiating under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Jerry Loved the Lord and his family, we will miss him.
