Charles Clayborn “Clay” Godfrey, 86 of Nashville, Ark., left for his Eternal Home on Monday, April 1. 2019, in Nashville.
He was born May 9, 1932 in Menard, Texas, to the late George Richard Godfrey and Velma Beatrice Hearrin Godfrey.
He was a retired cattle rancher and a member of the Cross Point Cowboy Church in Nashville. He loved playing with his bulldozer, checking his cattle, riding the pastures looking at nature. Clay taught his kids about an honest day’s work as well as respect and love. He loved trading and dickering with anyone that he could. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the sale barns and occasionally the coffee shop.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Margaret Godfrey, and a granddaughter, Danielle Fatherree, a brother, Pete Godfrey, and stepson Terry Brown.
He leaves behind his wife, Deronda Godfrey of Nashville. His children: Mary Duncan (Billy) of Benton, Ark., Debbie Ritchie of Nashville, Danny Godfrey (Shirley) of Nashville, stepson, David Brown (Lisa) of Nashville, and Ron Brown of Nashville. Siblings, Chico Godfrey (Madeline) of Anderson, Texas, and brother-in-law, Robert Jurischk of Spring, Texas. Also, 7 grandchildren, 18 grea-grandchildren, 6 step- grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be Friday, April 5, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Point Cowboy Church in Nashville with Bro. Don Jones and Bro. David Blase officiating. Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery.
