Glenda Faye “Granny” Young, 77, of Salem, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017.
She was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Newhope, the daughter of the late Almer Flemens and Leona Greenhaw Flemens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Young, Jr., and seven siblings.
She was a member of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Black Springs, worked for several years at Weyerhauser.
Survivors include: a son, Brian Hill and wife, Kaye, of Glenwood; six daughters, Mary Reed and husband, Glen, of Dierks, Jessie Fox of Dierks, Debbie Reid of Glenwood, Tina Krantz of Nashville, Beth Nichols of Dierks and Vicki Cowart and husband, Jason, of Langley; also grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, in the Newhope Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Vaughn and Bro. Scott Kitchens officiating.
Arrangements are by Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
