Barry Bruce Brown, passed from this life on October 26, 2017 and was born April 12, 1955, to David Clinton Brown and Glynda Nell Harmon Brown of Fort Worth, Texas.

Barry was preceded in death by his father, David Clinton Brown.

He leaves behind a wife of 43 years, Dixie Rogers Brown; two children, a daughter, Sonya Hooker of Texarkana, Texas and a son, Kyle Brown and wife, Breanna of Lindale, Texas. Five grandchildren, Dillion Hooker of Texarkana, Kylee and Peyton Brown of Texarkana, AR, and Hayden Gilbert and Jax Brown of Lindale. His mother, Glynda Kizzia, brother, Larry Brown and sister, Carrie Echols all of Murfreesboro; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Barry accepted Christ on his 15th birthday at Castleberry Baptist Church in Fort Worth. He was baptized while in the Navy at Central Baptist Church in Alameda California.

He graduated high school at W.E. Boswell in Saginaw, Texas.

Barry joined the U.S. Navy in June of 1973. While enlisted, he served aboard two aircraft carriers, the USS Oriskany and the USS Coral Sea, where he operated and maintained all below-decks aviation fuel systems.

Barry returned home to Fort Worth in June of 1977, where he attended Tarrant County Junior College and received his Associates of Applied Science degree. He worked in industrial maintenance and refrigeration as well as being self-employed, until 1990, when he heard God’s call upon his life to share the gospel. He furthered his education through Southern Baptist Seminary Extension program at Boyce Bible College. He also trained at Scope Ministries International, Christian Counseling Ministry, in Oklahoma City.

He was licensed to ministry by First Baptist Church Murfreesboro on October 9, 1991 and ordained to ministry by First Baptist Church in Wilton, AR. on February 21, 1993.

A memorial service was held on November 3, 2017.
