Bill Fant, age 80, of Daisy, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
He was born on February 11, 1937, in Newhope, the son of William Riley Fant and Cora Miller Fant. He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Fant and Timothy Fant; his parents; and two sisters, Jean Plemens and Penny Sailors.
He worked for many years in construction as a carpenter and attended the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church in Daisy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling all over the world, was an excellent wood worker, and proudly custom built his own home. His greatest joy in life was dancing and even became an experienced dance instructor.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa “Lissa” and Adam Clark of Decatur, Indiana, Tina Ellis of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Raya and Jason Lockhart; three grandchildren, Laurie Ann Seaney, Bradford Wayne Seaney and Tyler Fortson; five great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, R. D. Fant of Little Rock; his fiancée, Tanza Markham of Kirby; several nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.
Services were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 5, 2017, in the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Kenny Fant and Bro. Glenn Harris officiating.
Visitation was held Saturday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at the church.
Interment was in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers were Sonny Simmons, Eugene Whisenhunt, Bobby Brewer, Roger “Bimbo” Flemens, Nick Oberkiser and Brandon Markham.
Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Fant, J. C. O’Neal and the members of the Spa City Bop Club in Hot Springs.
