Ernest H. Bentrup joined his heavenly Father April 21, 2017 at the age of 83.
He was a powerful prayer warrior, gentle spirit, generous friend, and awesome Dad. He served his Lord for the last 35 years of his life, his country as a young man, and his family for 60 years. He worked 42 years for the L.E. Myers, Co.; retiring in 1995 to his home in Delight, Arkansas.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, as well as the mother of his children, Edith Harris Brantley.
He is survived by his loving family; son, Ed Bentrup and wife Lillie, and Floy Mae Rabinowitz and husband Mike. Grandchildren; Amber Ramsby, John Bentrup (Aileen), Sarah Woodard (Glenn), Danielle Baker (Chris), Matt Rabinowitz, Amy Claire Rabinowitz, and four great-grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his companion of 20 years, Robbie Sue Wise, his “Awesome Possum” Mason Anderson, and Ray Wise. In addition, he was considered big brother to Floy Lamb (Tommy), Merlin Harris (Vickie), and Kenny Harris (Alice).
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Latimer Funeral Home chapel in Murfreesboro.
Graveside services will be Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Delight Cemetery with Bro. Verlon Wood officiating under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
