Beryl McClure, age 83, of Glenwood, formerly of Humble, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, surrounded by many of her loving family members.
She was born on February 27, 1933, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Carl Walter Blakely and Beryl Hazel Dunn Blakely. On February 14, 1951, she was married to Fred McClure, who preceded her in death on June 30, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Clint Lee.
She was a member of the Glenwood First Baptist Church and a member of the Gideon’s International. She was a talented and gifted pianist, an avid gardener, and she took great pride in making her family quilts, which are cherished by many. Her true passion in life, above all else, was her family and her faith. Beryl was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who had the honor and privilege of having her in their life. She will truly be missed, but we will carry the love she gave each of us in our hearts forever.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Kim McClure of Nacogdoches, Texas and Lee and Kathy McClure of Spring, Texas; three daughters and one son-in-law, Pamela Howell of Atlanta, Georgia, Gail and Randy Lee of Clinton, Mississippi and Sherri “Sam” McClure of Washington, DC; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Esther McClure, Sarah and Austin Clark, Abigail McClure, Cody Lee McClure, Tyler and Brittany Moses, Tanner Moses, Randie and Mark Wilson, Ronnie Curtis, Jessica and Dariusch Agahi, Abbey Howell, Brett and Brittnye Lee, Kurt Lee, and Bridget and Trey Crowder; nine great-grandchildren, Liam Agahi, Brody Lee McClure, Brian Crowder, Addison Crowder, Lilly Crowder, Aiden Lee, Harley Morrison, Gage Morrison and Montego Wilson; and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017, in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Erby Burgess officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under
the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Dale McClure, Lee McClure, Cody McClure, Austin Clark, Trey Crowder, Brett Lee and Kurt Lee.
