Paul Godwin, age 83, of Story, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016.

He was born on April 20, 1933, in Avant, the son of Henry Albert Godwin and Mary Hill Godwin. On December 4, 1955, he was married to Betty Lou Farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Union Hill Church in Story; was a talented handyman, working in numerous areas on just about anything that needed repaired; and througho u t the years he was a cattle farmer. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed sitting outside watching the squirrels.

Paul was a gentle and kind man, who dearly loved life, always putting others ahead of himself, never saying a bad word about anyone and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Godwin of Story; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Johnny Paul Godwin of Norman and Randy Rodney and Darlene Godwin of Hot Springs Village; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Janice and David Rowland of Sims, Lisa and James Bryant of Pencil Bluff, Sherre and John Tedford and Tina Godwin, all of Story; eleven grandchildren, Vickie Rice, April Godwin, Erica Godwin, Rodney Godwin, Dwayne Rowland, James Cogburn, Jesse Cogburn, Ashley Scott, Steven Tedford, Kassady Bass and Curtis Bass; twelve great-grandchildren, Autumn, Cody, Madisson, Payton, Hope, Hannah, Jarrod, Blake, Jed, Benjamin, Alivia, Emeire, and two on the way, Ava and Eian; one brother, Silas Godwin of Royal; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 17, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Tony Rocha and Bro. James Cogburn officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Reed Cemetery.
