Gregg Self, age 36, of Kirby, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016.
He was born on December 11, 1979, in De Queen, the son of Blake Self and Norma Kay Dunlap Self. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alton and Vickie Self; and his maternal grandfather, Ellis Dunlap.
A member of Kirby Church of Christ, he enjoyed golfing, and was an avid animal lover, especially for his cats. He was a gifted and talented guitar player, with a huge part of his life being spent traveling and playing with Christian bands. His family and friends always knew that it was very important to Gregg that he use his gift as a musician to only play Christian music, which God would place upon his heart.
He is survived by his parents, Blake and Kay Self of Kirby; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Shane Self of Hot Springs and Chris and Dianna Self of Kirby; his grandmother, Madeline Dunlap of Kirby; three nephews, Dustin Martin, and his wife, Yoko, Steven Self and John Self; one great-niece, Kaila Martin; numerous extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 6, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Billy Golden and Pete Pedron officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the services. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
