Obituary: Audrey Maline Zumwalt; Blevins

Mrs. Audrey Maline Zumwalt, age 91, formerly of Blevins, Ark., passed away on Oct. 4, 2016 at home in San Jacinto, Calif.

She was born in Grannis, Ark., on Feb. 4, 1925 to Walter and Caroline Cotnam Graves. She married Coy Eugene Zumwalt on Jan. 7, 1942 and was a minister’s wife for over 60 years. She was also an office manager and bookkeeper for her son’s company, Contemporary Services Corporation in California for 13 years. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, and served as a Worthy Matron in chapters in both Reedsburg, Wisc., and Hope, Ark. She was also a member of the Golden K. Kiwanis in Hope, Ark., and a member of Marlbrook Baptist Church. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Coy E. Zumwalt, daughter Darlene Seamans, son Steven Zumwalt; one sister, Mamie Schreckhise, three brothers, Walter, Charles, and Quinton Graves, and one great-grandaughter, Kaylan Seamans. 

Her survivors include: Two sons: Coy E. Zumwalt, Jr., of Universal City, Texas; Damon Ray Zumwalt of Northridge, Calif.; a daughter, Anita Gail Maradiaga of San Jacinto, Calif.; two sisters, Birdie Baker of Melbourne, Fla., and Barbara Conley of Gilbert, Ariz.; a brother, Billy Joe Graves of Goose Creek, S.C.; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends Friday, Oct.14, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark. 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Marlbrook Baptist Church in Blevins, Ark., with Rev. Jerry Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Blevins, Ark. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Arkansas.
