Bonnie Mae Gordon, 74, of Crossett, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at her residence. She was born on February 9, 1942, in Mountain Pine, AR to her parents Clarence David and Audie Self Wagley. In 1981, she married her beloved, Gale Gordon and moved to Ashley County, where she worked several years at the Garment Factory. Later she became Manager at Subway and then Assistant Manager of Sav-a-lot Food Store. Bonnie was a “people person” who enjoyed sewing, watching sports, especially baseball, and playing with her grandchildren. She referred to her great-grandson, Tripp, who visited her often, as “her therapy”, and was affectionately called “Miss Bonnie” by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clarence David Wagley; her mother, Audie Self Jeffress; and one brother, Waymond Wagley.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gale Gordon of Crossett; two daughters, Terri Cheek and husband Roger of Murfreesboro, and Jerri Hagood and husband Donnie of Crossett; one son, Gary Buck and wife Karla of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, Justin Cheek and wife Rebecca of Delight, Jonathon Cheek and special friend Ragan Bailey of Murfreesboro, Brittany Hagood-Watt and husband T.J. of Crossett, Donald Hagood and special friend Leah Vandiver also of Crossett, and Jeffery Buck and wife Jennifer and Kimberly Fontenot and husband Bradly all of Hot Springs; along with nine great- grandchildren, Noah Cox, Makylnn, Price, J., and Kiser Cheek, Tripp Watt, Saylar Buck, and Aralyn and Jaelyn Fontenot; and one special grandchild, Dominick Williams.

Funeral services were held at 2p.m., Sunday, August 21st at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1301 Mimosa St. in Crossett with Bro. Jim Baker officiating, followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jeffery Buck, Dominick Williams, T.J. Watt, Justin Cheek, Alex Braswell, and Donald Hagood. Honorary pallbearers were Marty and Ann Phillips, Tommy and Phyllis Cook, Shirley Cooper, Dr. Garcia, and the excellent nursing staff at ACMC and Hospice Homecare.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., on Saturday, August 20th at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett.

In lieu of lowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
