Mr. Donnie Parker passed away on Aug. 5, 2016 at his home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Donnie grew up in Dierks, Ark., the son of Fred and Patra Seymour Parker who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn W. Parker; daughters, Amy Parker, Emily Parker Shook and her husband, Jack, and his daughter, Gabrielle, Jenny Parker and her husband Ian Titus; grandson, Everett Parker Titus and granddaughter, Carson Parker Titus. In addition, his brothers, Houston Parker, Fred Parker, Jr. and Wayne Parker; sisters, Lavon Reed, Joyce Sharp and Carolyn Jones; mother-in-law, Columbia Winchester; sisters-in-law, Linda, Ramona and Mamie Susan and brother-in-law Gary also survive him.
Donnie graduated from college with a Masters in Business Administration and served his country in Vietnam before beginning his career in healthcare. Donnie served as the Assistant Administrator of Howard County Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Ark., but spent most of his career with Bristol-Myers Squibb. He retired as Director of Sales Training. He was a Christian man whose intellect, compassion and kind character were qualities that made him successful in his career and someone for whom people enjoyed working.
Donnie was competitive and enjoyed playing golf. However, his greatest love was for his wife and family who will miss him very much.
A memorial service will be held at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, Ark., on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. with visitation following the service.
