Nashville Leader to buyout Graves Publishing

The Nashville Leader has announced plans to purchase the assets of Graves Publishing Co., including the Nashville News and three other papers.

The Leader made an offer to Graves Publishing last month, and the offer has been accepted.

The closing date is tentatively set for May 31.

Graves Publishing operates the Nashville News, Murfreesboro Diamond, Glenwood Herald and Montgomery County News.

The Nashville News is the oldest continuously active business in Howard County, dating back to 1878.

The Leader published its first issue July 23, 2003.
