funderburkRobbie Funderburk, age 52, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was born on September 15, 1963 in Murfreesboro, the son of Billy Wayne Funderburk and Annie Belle Smith Funderburk. On November 22, 1984, he was married to Karen Tolleson. Robbie was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and where he was very involved with church activities. He was active in the Kirby Youth Association and Southwest Arkansas Babe Ruth Baseball, coaching baseball to all ages of young people. He was an avid Kirby Trojan fan, hunter and fisherman. Before retiring due to health reasons, Robbie started on day one with the Pike County Landfill and worked for the county 28 years, leaving as landfill foreman. He is survived by his wife, Karen Funderburk of Kirby; his son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Kayla Funderburk of Kirby; his daughter, Becky Funderburk of Texarkana, Texas; his grandson, Cain Funderburk; his parents, Billy and Annie Funderburk of Kirby; his sister, Teresa Cogburn and her husband, Billy, of Kirby; his brother, Mike Funderburk and his wife, Jan, of Kirby; and his nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Herring, Bro. Melvin Markham and Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Visitation was Sunday, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.  Pallbearers will be Marty Smith, Robert Tucker, Billy Cogburn, Dwayne Reid, Rodney Hudgins and Walter Cogburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Stearman, Robby Smith, Stacy Howell, Dr. Stephen Fred Divers, MD and the staff of Genesis Cancer Center, the staff of Arkansas Hospice and Johnny Jenkins who was there to meet him at the gates of Heaven. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
