A Murfreesboro teen could be charged with felony assault after he stabbed a 41-year-old man in the back during a fight Friday night, according to Murfreesboro Police Chief Randy Lamb.

The 15-year-old male is accused of stabbing Tony Couch of Murfreesboro with a pocketknife during an altercation at a home on Mauney Street. MPD Officer Green was dispatched the home around 11 p.m. in response to a call from Ray Dean, who stated someone had been stabbed at the home. There were four adult males on the scene and Couch was found to be injured. He was transported by ambulance to the Nashville hospital where he was treated and released.

Lamb said the fight between Couch and the teen apparently escalated from a verbal altercation. Details of the incident are under investigation and all charges are pending.
