Residents of Montgomery County will join other Americans Thurs., May 5, at 12 p.m. in a time of national prayer as part of the 64th annual National Day of Prayer.
According to nationaldayofprayer.org, the theme for this year is “Wake up America.” The emphasis will be the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name.  To further highlight this theme, organizers have chosen Isaiah 58:1a as the Scripture for this year: “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.”
Locally, county residents will gather at the Montgomery County Courthouse Square in Mount Ida at 12 p.m. to join in prayer.
According to  nationaldayofprayer.org, Dr. Tony Evans, the 2016 honorary chairman, wrote a special prayer to be read simultaneously throughout the nation at 12 p.m.
