Spring is here and, with the comfortable climate and lovely days, most of us are noticing our yards and gardens and just might be feeling eager to make this our most successful year of gardening yet!
Well, you are in luck because the members of our local Montgomery County Master Gardeners will present their annual Plant Sale on Saturday, April 30th, from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m., on the grounds of Heritage House Museum of Montgomery County.
As usual, there will be a wonderful selection of vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials, bulbs, house plants, trees and shrubs. The Montgomery County Master Gardener members work hard preparing plant material for this spectacular event. They have been busy digging plants and taking cuttings from their yards along with starting seeds in anticipation of the needs of their shoppers. The tomato plants that are offered at this sale are always a huge attraction.
This year well known local orchid specialist, Mary Alice Black, has donated a wide variety of orchids and air plants for the sale. It is with joy and pride that over one hundred of these beautiful plants will be featured.
There will be garden books, decorative items and crafts for sale. Lovely ferns and an assortment of office/house plants will be available. You might find that perfect gift for Mother’s Day, a birthday, another special occasion or just a treat for yourself or a friend!
Be sure to mark April 30 on your calendar! Many of our neighbors wouldn’t dream of missing this annual event. The museum is located on the south end of Mt. Ida at the junction of Luzerne St. and Hwy. 27South. See you there.
