The Montgomery County Nursing Home Ladies Auxiliary Thrift Store was chosen to be the 2016 Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit Organization of the Year. Dr. Mary Anne Shaw (left) and Kenn Greene (right) were chosen to be the 2016 Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year and Man of the Year respectively. State Representative Nate Bell and State Senator Larry Teague present a check for $5,000 to Montgomery County Judge Sammy Jones and Kenn Greene. Jones and Greene accepted the grant money on behalf of the South Fork-Center Volunteer Fire Department. The grant money is made available through the House General Improvement Fund. Joe Jacobs spoke to the Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce about the unique opportunities that come from having three IMBA Epic Trails in Montgomery County. Gar Eisele, the Director of ARCO, spoke about the rebranding effort of the organization which serves Montgomery County, as well as Polk and Yell Counties.
