Hot Springs woman arrested for drug possession

DIERKS – Deputies Eric Billings and Travis Turner were patrolling on Hwy 70 north of Dierks when they noticed a car fail to stop at a stop sign. When they stopped the car for the violation and identified the driver and passengers (four occupants in all) they were told by the driver that he (Charlie Self) had a suspended driver’s license and a warrant out of Polk County.Turner and Billings arrested the driver and Turner used K9 “Kilo” to sniff the car and Kilo indicated to the presence of odor of narcotics. The deputy’s search of the car turned up a small bag of suspected methamphetamine under the front passenger’s seat of the car. The deputies arrested front passenger, Tamela Malliard, 39, of Hot Springs, for the suspected meth. When the deputies arrested Malliard she told them that she had a glass meth pipe hidden on her. When deputies transported Malliard to jail, jailer Kisha Jones strip searched Malliard and found the meth pipe. Malliard was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. No bond has been set at press release time.
