George DamonGeorge Edward Damon, Sr., 86, of Nashville, Arkansas, formerly of Washington, Arkansas went to be with the Lord from his home Friday, January 29, 2015. Mr. Damon was born September 15, 1929 in Dutch Creek, Arkansas, Yell County to Dorsey and Elizabeth Davis Damon. Mr. Damon was a member of Cross Point Cowboy Church, former owner of Pioneer Grocery in Old Wasington, he was a farmer, rancher, hunter, fisherman, and a big jokester. Mr. Damon made his mark on those in need that he came in to contact with by feeding them out of his garden and helping those that couldn’t help themselves. He was a friend to all those he met. He loved spending time with his children, and all his grandchildren, and he was the cornerstone of the Damon family. Mr. Damon was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leslie Damon; and two sisters, Lettie Damon. Left holding onto all the wonderful memories are his wife of 65 years Frances Gray Damon; three sons, George Edward Damon, Jr. of Clinton, Gary Damon and Ricky Damon, both of Nashville; two daughters, Debra Hart of Glenwood and Vickie Damon of Nashville; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends and people that their lives were touched because of his graciousness. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Herndon Pharr Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to service time. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the chapel at Herndon Pharr Funeral Home in Hope with Bro. Jeff Smith, Bro Bryan Adair, and Bro.
